The Octavia Saga began as a spark. A return to imagination, to wonder, and to the part of me that believes in heroes.

I began writing during a season of watching my sons grow into their teenage years – that bittersweet space where children naturally begin pulling away as they discover who they are becoming. Turning them into fictional heroes helped me stay close to their hearts in another way.

Inspired by my boys, by the fierce love at the centre of motherhood and by a longing for magik, courage and meaning in the world, I began building Octavia.

What started as a fantasy saga slowly became something deeper.

An exploration of courage.
Resilience.
Guardianship.
Hope.
Rising through darkness.

Somewhere along the way, the themes woven through the books began stepping beyond the page and into real life.

The spark became a fire.

AND THE HARPY FOUNDATION WAS BORN FROM THAT FIRE.
